To educate and re-educate all Americans regarding the troubling but resilient history of a proud people as they struggled to survive a system that relegated them to abuse and restrictions never before known to mankind. To retrace the “Underground Railroad” that brave souls like Harriet Tubman treaded through “the blood of the slaughtered” to lead hundreds of southern slaves to freedom in the North. To travel routes that will expose participants to sites where significant liberating events occurred during and after slavery.
